Magnolia

This painting was inspired by my grandmonther Nancy's love of flowers. Recently I read her memoirs that our family made into a bounded book. It was inspiring. This painting reminds me of her journey, her stories and her love of nature. The style and color palette is meant to look a bit vintage and historical, using muddier blends in the background of earthy greens and sunlit corners, yet having the transparency of the flower shine through.
 
Measuring 12x12 inches, this oil painting features black edges and is set on an extra-thick, 2-inch deep canvas and floating frame is included.
